At a meeting held today, the Supervisory Board of HORNBACH Immobilien
AG, a wholly-owned subsidiary of HORNBACH HOLDING AG based in
Neustadt an der Weinstrasse, elected Manfred Kummer to be Spokesman
of the company's Board of Management. The positions on the Board of
Management and Supervisory Board of HORNBACH Immobilien AG have been
reassigned following Eduard Zimmerle's departure from the Group at
the end of October 2008.

Manfred Kummer has held leading positions of responsibility within
the HORNBACH Group's real estate activities for many years now.
Furthermore, two further managers at the HORNBACH Group, Ralf Kunz
(Director of Construction and Technical Procurement) and Thomas
Wieder (Director of Group Controlling), were appointed as members of
the Board of Management at today's meeting of the Supervisory Board
of HORNBACH Immobilien AG. They will assume the responsibilities of
Albrecht Hornbach and Roland Pelka, who are moving from the company's
Board of Management to the Supervisory Board as of December 1, 2008.

In addition to Albrecht Hornbach (Chairman) and Roland Pelka (Deputy
Chairman), the newly elected Supervisory Board of HORNBACH Immobilien
AG also includes Steffen Hornbach. Otmar Hornbach, Jürgen Schröcker
and Manfred Valder will retire from their positions on the
supervisory body.

By reassigning the positions on the Board of Management and
Supervisory Board of its real estate subsidiary, the HORNBACH Group
aims to consistently press ahead with its Europe-wide expansion with
HORNBACH DIY megastores with garden centers. The Group currently
operates 128 DIY locations in nine countries. An extensive portfolio
of real estate assets, mainly involving DIY megastores with garden
centers, is pooled at HORNBACH Immobilien AG. The company acquires
and develops new locations for the Group. A profit transfer and
subordination agreement is in place between HORNBACH Immobilien AG
and its sole shareholder, HORNBACH HOLDING AG.
