BioXell announces change in Executive Management

Milan, Italy, April 27, 2009 - BioXell S.p.A. (SIX: BXLN) announced
today the decision of Dr. Francesco Sinigaglia to resolve, on the
basis of a mutual agreement, his employment relationship with the
Company in his role of Chief Executive Officer. He will remain the
Managing Director of BioXell up to the upcoming shareholders' meeting
on April 30, 2009. Dr. Sinigaglia will continue providing his
services to the Company as a consultant.

Niels Ackermann, BioXell's current Chief Financial Officer, will
become the new Chief Executive Officer of BioXell with immediate
effect.

Francesco Sinigaglia commented, "At a time where BioXell is reviewing
its strategic options, I think it is the right time to step down
after more than seven years as the founding CEO of BioXell. I have
enormous confidence in our employees and management. My overriding
priority is to ensure the smooth transition in the best interest of
the company."

Prof. Thomas Szucs, Chairman of the Board of Directors of BioXell,
commented, "On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to
thank Francesco Sinigaglia for his significant contribution and
leadership to our Company. He played a pivotal role in building
BioXell since its foundation in 2002 and bringing the Company to a

success for his future endeavors."
