Manfred Wennemer appointed new chairman of the KION Group supervisory
board |

Wiesbaden, 24 June 2009 - The KION Group GmbH shareholders' assembly
has appointed Manfred Wennemer (62) as a shareholder representative
on the company's supervisory board. He will take up his duties on 1
July 2009 and succeeds Till Hufnagel, executive director at Goldman
Sachs Capital Partners, who is to step down with effect from 30 June
2009. From September 2009, he will also take over as chairman of the
supervisory board, succeeding Johannes Huth, head of Europe at KKR,
who will remain on the supervisory board.
Johannes Huth, chairman of the KION Group supervisory board and
managing director of KKR, and Dr Alex Dibelius, managing director at
Goldman Sachs, said: "We are delighted to have gained such a well
respected manager with proven expertise in the manufacturing industry
for the KION Group's supervisory board. As its chairman he will also
provide long-term continuity. Together with the executive board
chaired by Gordon Riske, Mr Wennemer will add his full support to
KION's successful multibrand strategy and he will provide additional
impetus for the further development of the company."
Manfred Wennemer has 30 years' experience in the manufacturing
industry. He has held both strategic and operational positions in
Germany, South Africa and the US. From 2001 to 2008, he was the CEO
of Continental AG, the tyre producer and automotive components
supplier. Manfred Wennemer became the German government's
representative on the advisory board of the Opel trustee company in
June 2009.
